Not all Super Hero's where capes!
In light of the recent devastating fires that occurred along our eastern coast, and in keeping with the kindy's philosophy of caring and looking out for one another, we decided to hold a "Super Hero" day. This was also to give some recognition to those wonderful men and women who so carelessly worked to keep lives, homes, livestock and property safe as well as those who so unfortunately suffered as a result of the fires, themselves.
We asked the kids to come in as their favourite super-hero, acknowledging that the emergency personnel who helped as well as those who lost everything, were heroes in their own right. Families - very generously - made donations on the day and we raised $800. We asked our kids who they wanted to help with the funds raised and it was unanimous: animals that had suffered and other children.
And so - on behalf of our children and their wonderfully supportive families, we are making donations to the following charities: $400 to the The Salvation Army Disaster Appeal $400 to the Koala Hospital Port Macquarie
We think our families are heroes for being so generous- thank you!
